Top Gun Kennels has offered gun dog training for over 40 years. We have learned a great deal along the way. At Top Gun Kennels, we train with a positive reinforcement attitude. We encourage your dog to maintain her natural attitudes and temperament while training. Our job and goal is to train your dog to hunt with his/her best natural abilities, not break her spirit.
We offer multiple levels of training styles in order to accommodate each
individual animal's needs. For example: we train the "Whoa" command in five
different fashions.
We offer an opportunity to train with whistle commands, beepers, or e-collars if necessary. We determine what the owner's handling style is and then proceed with the appropriate equipment.
We encourage the owners to be personally involved in their dog's training. If you select Top Gun Kennels to meet your training needs, we would encourage you to visit as frequently as your time allows. The visitations keep you informed on progress, gives you hands on exposure to training techniques and commands being used, as well as addressing any questions or concerns immediately.
We keep pigeons and quail here on the property to be used to get and keep a dog birdie. We utilize the pen raised birds to establish and control positive pointing experiences during training. We are members of two local area hunt clubs if chukkar/pheasant exposure becomes necessary.
